Taking inspiration from my writer friend Vasudhendra, we decided on temple darshan the hard way — 1008 steps straight up. By step 10 I was huffing like an old steam engine 😅 Niha looked at me, concerned, and said “Ammaa, you go ahead and stay down.” I laughed out loud and told her, “No way. I’m the Malathi — one and only. I don’t quit.”

So I climbed. Slow. With lots of pit stops to catch my breath, and to steal moments of cool misty breeze, birdsong, and the city slowly unveiling itself below like a painting. An hour later, legs aching but heart full, I reached the temple. The temple was enveloped in mist. Totally worth every step.

It took us an hour . we gave each other a high 5 and said 'yaay we did it. one of the wish in my bucket list ticked off..

i stood like this for 10 min for Niha to finish laughing...anything to humor her. missed Malavika, she had cake orders for fathers day

 ನಾವು ನಿಹಾ ಗೆ ಮೈಸೂರಿಗೆ ಗಾಡಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಹೋಗಿ ಬಿಡ ಬೇಕಾದಲ್ಲಿ, ಅಕ್ಕ instagram ನಿಂದ ನೋಟ್ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡ sight seeing ಜಾಗ ಅಥವಾ ತಿನ್ನುವ ಜಾಗ ಗಳಿಗೆ ಭೇಟಿ ನೀಡಿ ಬರುವ ಪರಿಪಾಠ. ನನಗೆ ಈ ಸಲ ರಂಗನತಿಟ್ಟು ಗೆ ಹೋಗಬೇಕೆಂದಿತ್ತು. ಅಕ್ಕನಿಗೆ ಮೂಡ್ ಇರಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಶ್ರೀಕಾಂತ್ ಕೆಲದದಲ್ಲಿ ಬ್ಯುಸಿ...ಹಾಗಾಗಿ ಈ ಒಂದು ಐಸ್ ಕ್ರಿಮ್ ಅಂಗಡಿಗೆ ಹೋಗುವಾ ಅಂದ್ಲು ಅಕ್ಕ. ಓಪನ್ ಬಿಡಿ, ಆಗಲೇ ಸುಮಾರು ಜನ ಐಸ್ ಕ್ರೀಮ್ ತಿಂದು ಹೋದ ಕುರುಹು ಇತ್ತು 😁. ಅಕ್ಕ ಮತ್ತು ಸಾರಥಿ ಅಜಯ್ ಫ್ರೂಟ್ ಸಲಾಡ್ ಮತ್ತು ಐಸ್ ಕ್ರೀಮ್ ತೆಗೊಂಡ್ರು, ನಾನು ಗಡ್ಬಡ್...ಚೆನ್ನಾಗಿತ್ತು ಐಸ್ ಕ್ರೀಮ್..ತುಂಬಾ ಸಿಹಿ ಇರಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಹದವಾದ ಸರ್ವಿಂಗ್..

ಕ್ಯಾಶ್ only ನೋಡಿ, ಅಜಯ್ ಯಾಕೆ ಯು ಪಿ ಐ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡಿಲ್ಲ ಅಂದ್ರೆ..ರಶ್ ಇದ್ದಾಗ ಸುಮಾರು ಜನ ದುಡ್ಡು ಕೊಡದೆ ಹೋಗಿದ್ದಾರೆ ಅಂದ್ರು. ವಯಸ್ಸಾದ  ಮೂವರು ಜನ ಮ್ಯಾನೇಜ್ ಮಾಡುವುದು. 91 ವರ್ಷ ಹಳೆಯ ಅಂಗಡಿ. ಬ್ರಿಟಿಷ್ ರ ಕಾಲದ ಕುರ್ಚಿ ಮೇಜು. 

ಅಜಯ್ 'ಇವರು ಶಿವಮೊಗ್ಗ ದಿಂದ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಅಂಗಡಿ ಹುಡುಕಿಕೊಂಡು ಬಂದಿದ್ದಾರೆ ' ಅಂದು ಬಿಟ್ರು. 

'ಹೌದಾ ಶಿವಮೊಗ್ಗದಿಂದ ಬಂದ್ರಾ? ಅಲ್ಲಿ ನನ್ನ ಮಗಳು ಇದ್ದಾಳೆ, ವಿನೋಬ ನಗರದಲ್ಲಿ...ಆಯುರ್ವೇದಿಕ್ ಡಾಕ್ಟ್ರು...ನೀವು ಮೈಸೂರಿಗೆ ಹೇಗೆ..

ನಾನು- ಮಗಳು ಕೆಲಸದ ನಿಮಿತ್ತ ಇಲ್ಲಿದ್ದಾಳೆ. ಅವಳಿಗೆ ಬಿಡಲಿಕ್ಕೆ ಬಂದಿದ್ಫು....ಚೆನ್ನಾಗಿತ್ತು ಐಸ್ ಕ್ರೀಮ್. thank you ಅಂದೆ.

ನಾವು ಮಾತುಕತೆಗೆ ತೊಡಗಿರುವಾಗಲೇ ಹಲವು ಜನ ಜ್ಯುಸ್ ಕುಡಿದು ಹೋದ್ರು. ಹೆಚ್ಚಿನ ಜನ ಸೊಗಡೆ ಬೇರಿನ ಜ್ಯುಸ್ ತೆಗೊಂಡ್ರು..ಅದು ಬಿಟ್ಟರೆ ರೋಸ್ ಮಿಲ್ಕ್. ಮುಂದಿನ ಸಲ ನಿಹಾ ಮತ್ತು ಶ್ರೀಕಾಂತ್ ಜತೆ ಹೋಗಿ ಅದನ್ನು ಟೇಸ್ಟ್ ಮಾಡಬೇಕು 😀❤️

ಇನ್ನೊಂದು ಆಶ್ಚರ್ಯ ಕಾದಿತ್ತು. ಮಕ್ಕಳಿಗೆ ದಾಸ್ ಪ್ರಕಾಶ್ ಹೋಟಲ್ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಹೇಳಿ ಹೇಳಿ ತಲೆ ಕೆಡಿಸಿದ್ದೆ. ಗೂಗಲ್ ಮಾಡಿದಾಗ permanently closed ಬಂದಿತ್ತು. ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಸಿಸ್ ಕ್ರೀಮ್ ತಿಂದು ಸ್ವಲ್ಪ ಓಡಾಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾಗ ಅಲ್ಲೇ ದಾಸ್ ಪ್ರಕಾಶ್ ಹೋಟಲ್ ಸಿಕ್ಕಿ ಬಿಡ್ತು. ಹೌದು ಈಗ ಬೋರ್ಡ್ ಮಾತ್ರ ಉಳಿದಿದೆ. ಮದುವೆ ಆದ ಹಾಗೆ ಒಂದು ಸಲ ಭೇಟಿ ನೀಡಿದ್ವಿ...38 ವರ್ಷಗಳ ಹಿಂದೆ..ಅಕ್ಕನಿಂದ ಫೋಟೋ ತೆಗೆಸಿಕೊಂಡೇ
