After so many days went out early this morning to get milk.

Had been to apartment terrace today. The sight of blooming tabebuia rosea trees is beatific..

One week of lock down done...2 more to go...

Except cooking, cleaning, eating and watching movies fid nothing much today

Got fresh vegetables from a lady handcart vendor. Says she will come everyday

Lock Down Day 5

Well my Washing machine busted...now we know where Srikanth's pen drive is. It is stuck between the drum and now my machine wont run, so had to manually wash clothes and will be doing so until the WM is repaired or replaced.

Niha called to say that the didi who cooks for them is not coming so all of them pitch in and cook. She had booked her flight for the 31st of March..now i will be seeing her after the 15th April.

Apartment whatsapp group are coming up with games, quiz, crossword etc...family whatsapp group came up with fill in the blanks with konkani words...so was playing games until very late last night

Many mosquitos of late since no sprayer is available.

Felt like eating a cake
Hence baked a coffee cake

Decorated it too ✌️

Then watched a movie on Amazon

So what are you all upto?

Lock Down day 4

The workers residing in the hotel washed a lot of their clothes today and hanged it out to try. They put the song 'hawa hawa ye hawa khushbhu luta de' listening to the song after 30 years and was surprised i remember the lyrics..i sang along while cleaning /repotting my balcony plants

We konkanis always stock rice and tuvar dal in big quantities. I have 30 kgs of organic red rice from teerthahalli and about 5 kg of dal. Am willing to share with my fellow residents.

 Today our hyper market van was due but did not turn up. Have stocks of potatoes and onions. Starting today we will prepare ganji / gruel...it means consuming less food and at the same time good hydration to the body. I have some malabar spinach growing in my pot so that will take care  of greens in our diet for atleast 5 days.

I have decided to drink only one cup of tea starting today...my only luxury...until milk lasts

Srikanth is on conference call with field workers , who in turn keep in touch with the farmers via cell phone and apps to boost their flagging morales. They tell us how their farm produce is getting wasted. And people in our building are asking for vegetables. Transport and drivers are not available. But then it is their life too . We cannot ignore that fact.

Called Nimpi. She says she is getting a lot of assignment that is keeping her busy. Miss her. Akka is getting cake orders...food is one business that thrives no matter what...we both have some food plans.. Crossing fingers. That is keeping us going...making plans

Could not watch movies today since the net is slow ...but yesterday night binge watched on kannada movies...' nanna prakara' 'devaki' and Vrithrya..slept at 6 am and woke at 6.30

Tomorrow will share some more funny stuffs about akka's student ...

ಎಲ್ಲ ಸರಿಯಾಗಿದ್ರೆ ನಾನು ಅಮ್ಮನ ಜತೆ ಇರಬೇಕಿತ್ತು. ಮಾರ್ಚ್ ಏಪ್ರಿಲ್ ಅಮ್ಮನ ಜತೆ ಇದ್ದು , ಅಮ್ಮನ ತಾರಸಿ ತೋಟ ಸರಿ ಮಾಡುವ, ಇನ್ನಷ್ಟು ಗಿಡ ನೆಡುವ ಚಟುವಟಿಕೆ ಹಮ್ಮಿಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದೆವು.

ಅಮ್ಮನ ತಾರಸಿ ತೋಟದಲ್ಲಿ ಬೆಳೆದ ಸಾಂಬಾರ್ ಸೌತೆ/ಗದ್ದೆ ಸೌತೆ
ಈಗ ಅಮ್ಮನಿಗೆ ದಿನಾಲು ಫೋನ್ ಮಾಡಿ ಮಾತಾಡ್ತೇನೆ
"ಮನೆ ಕೆಲಸದ ಸಹಾಯಕಿ ಈಗಲೂ ಬರ್ತಿದ್ದಾಳೆ

"ಆಕೆದು ಪುಟ್ಟ ಮನೆ. "ಈಗ ಗಂಡ , ಇಬ್ಬರು ಮಕ್ಕಳು ಮನೆಯಲ್ಲೇ ಇರ್ತಾರೆ. ನನಗೆ ಮನೆಯಲ್ಲಿರಕೆ ಆಗಲ್ಲ"
ಅಮ್ಮನ ಮನೆ ಸಹಿತ ಇನ್ನೂ 4 ಮನೆ ಯಲ್ಲಿ ಕೆಲಸ ಮಾಡ್ತಾಳೆ
ಇವತ್ತು ಕೂಡ ರಸ್ತೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಜನರಿದ್ದಾರೆ ಆದರೆ ನಿನ್ನೆಗಿಂತ ಕಡಿಮೆ.  ಈಗ ಸಂಜೆ ಸ್ವಲ್ಪ ವಾಹನ ಸಂಚಾರ ಜಾಸ್ತಿಯಾಗಿದೆ
ಇವತ್ತು ಬಾಲ್ಕನಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಸ್ವಲ್ಪ ಗಿಡಗಳನ್ನು ಮರುಪಾತಿ (repotting)ಮಾಡಿದೆ 😊😊
ಬೆಳಗ್ಗೆ ವಾಕ್ ಇಲ್ಲ ಆದ್ದರಿಂದ ರಾತ್ರಿ ಉಪವಾಸ

ತಮ್ಮ ತಂಗಿ, ಪರ ಊರಲ್ಲಿರುವ ನಿಂಪಿ  ಜತೆ ಕೊರೊನ ಪನ್ ಮಾಡಿ ಬೈಯಿಸಿಕೊಂಡೆ

Lock ಡೌನ್ ಡೇ 2

Got up early. Cleaned the deities. Swept and mopped the house. Put a simple rangoli. Prepared uppittu & avalakki.

Srikanth and colleague went to the office to sign an important document. 🤔🤔 With permission from our resident welfare society got some produce from the farmers, which were at our office premise. Organic jaggery, millets, wheat,  cowpea, chana nigella seeds etc...before we set up shop, people were already coming to purchase. So spent some time there
Still many people moving about on their vehicles.
Tomorrow will do some repotting.

I am thankful for the balcony. I watch birds through the binoculars...
Missing my younger daughter, but it is a relief to know she is safe..

Lock Down Day 1

Got up at four, since i could not go out did some stretching exercise, then watched you tube videos on bread making
Today breakfast of neeru dose, chutney, choorna..adgay..an exclusive pickle found only in Konkani household...made with raw mango and raw jackfruit. It does not have shelf life so you need to refrigerate.

Saw quite a number of people on road, not heeding to police restriction. Few got beaten. A key was removed from two wheeler. A car just ignored the police and sped away. A couple just missed getting hit by lathi whilst they sped on the road.

Spar hypermarket van came into our building and we purchased a few necessary item.

Husband was getting ready to go the office...gave him a sound a piece of my mind...grrrrr

Made  sarson saag...mustard greens mixed with some gongura leaves, methi leaves, palak..such a nice feeling to grow these in your pot in the balcony

After lunch tried to watch 'She' on Netflix..a badly made series
Continued with my book ಸಮರಸವೆ ಜೀವನ - ಭಾಗ ಎರಡು..surprisingly i am reading how a place is suffering after a plague epidemic... Coincidence or what??!!🤔🤔
Did some cleaning because tomorrow is Yugadi

ಅಪಘಾತ / accident / ಜನತಾ ಕರ್ಫ್ಯೂ

ಇವತ್ತು ಬೆಳಿಗ್ಗೆ ಒತ್ತು ಶ್ಯಾವಿಗೆಗೆ ರೆಡಿ ಮಾಡಿ ನಾನು ಬಾಲಕನಿಗೆ ಬಂದು ಟೀ ಕುಡಿಯುವಾಗ ಆಗಲೇ 6.30 ಗಂಟೆ. ದೊಡ್ಡ ತಗಡು ಬಿದ್ದ ಸದ್ದಾಯಿತು. ನಮ್ಮ ಸಿಗ್ನಲ್ ನಲ್ಲೇ ಅಪಘಾತ. ಬೈಕ್ ಮತ್ತು ಬಿ ಎಂ ಟಿ ಸಿ ಬಸ್.   ಕೆಲವೇ ಕೆಲವು ಜನ ಸಹಾಯ ಮಾಡಲು ಓಡಿದ್ರು. ಒಬ್ಬ ಅಪಘಾತ ಸಹಾಯವಾಣಿಗೆ ಫೋನಾಯಿಸಿದ. 5 ನಿಮಿಷದಲ್ಲಿ ಸಂಚಾರಿ ಪೊಲೀಸ್ ವಾಹನ ಬಂದರೆ ಅಂಬುಲನ್ಸ್ 8 ನಿಮಿಷಕ್ಕೆ ಹಾಜರ್. ಆದರೂ ಎಷ್ಟೋ ಹೊತ್ತು ಕಾದ ಅನುಭವ..

ಸದ್ದನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿ ಒಬ್ಬ ಮಹಿಳೆ ಎಷ್ಟು ದೂರ ಓಡಿದಳು. ಆಮೇಲೆ ನಿಧಾನಕ್ಕೆ ವಾಪಸ್ ಘಟನಾ ಸ್ಥಳಕ್ಕೆ ಬಂದಳು. ಸhಹಾಯ ಮಾಡಿದ ಒಬ್ಬರು ಸನಿಟಿಜಿರ್ ನಿಂದ ಬಹಳ ಹೊತ್ತು ಕೈ ಒರೆಸಿದರು. ಕೆಲವು ಮೆಟ್ರೋ ಕೆಲಸಗಾರರು ಇಲ್ಲೇ ಇದ್ದಾರೆ. ಪಾಪ ಅಲ್ಲೇ ಒಂದು ತಗಡಿಗೆ ಬೆಂನಾನಿಸಿ ಕೂತಿದ್ದಾನೆ

ಹೋಟಲ್ ನ resident ಕೆಲಸಗಾರರು ದೊಡ್ಡದಾಗಿ ಹಾಡು ಹಾಕ್ಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ

ಸಂಜೆ ಜಾಗಂಟೆ ಮತ್ತು ತಾಳದೊಂದಿಗೆ ವೈರಸ್ ವಿರುದ್ಧ ಹೋರಾಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದವರಿಗೋಸ್ಕರ , ನ್ಮಆಮ್ಎಂಎಂಆ ಬಿಬಿಎಂಪಿ, ಪೆರಿಕೆ, ಹಸಲು ತಂದು ಕೊಡುವವರು..ಅಂಬುಲನ್ಸ್ ಚಾಲಕರು...ಇತ್ಯಾದಿ 🙏🙏

ಇವತ್ತು ಹಕ್ಕಿಗಳ ಸದ್ದು ನಿಚ್ಚಳವಾಗಿ ಕೇಳಿಸುತ್ತಿತ್ತು. ಕೆಲ ಎಳೆಯರು ಬೈಕ್ ನಲ್ಲಿ ಕಿರುಚಾಡ್ತ ಹೋಗ್ತಿದ್ರು.

ಯಾಕೋ ಇದು ನೆನಪಾಯ್ತು. ನಾವು ಊಬರ್ ,ಓಲಾ ಬಾಡಿಗೆ ಗಾಡಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಹೋಗುವಾಗ, ಶ್ರೀಕಾಂತ್ ಯಾವಾಗಲೂ ಅವರನ್ನು ಮಾತಾಡಿಸಿ ಅವರ ಸುಖ ದುಃಖದ ಕಾಳಜಿ ವಹಿಸುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಆಗ ಒಬ್ಬ ಚಾಲಕ ನಮ್ಮಒಂದಿಗೆ ಹಂಚಿಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದು....ದುಡ್ಡು ಉಳಿಸೊಗೋಸ್ಕರ ಕಂಪನಿಯವರು ಒಂದು ಪುಟ್ಟ ರೂಮ್ನಲ್ಲಿ 4-5 ಜನರನ್ನು ಉಳಿದುಕೊಳ್ಳುವ ವ್ಯವಸ್ಥೆ ಮಾಡ್ತಾರಂತೆ. ತೊಂದರೆಯಾಗಲ್ವಾ ಅಂತ ಕೇಳಿದಕ್ಕೆ ಇಲ್ಲ ಮ್ಯಾಡಂ ಶಿಫ್ಟ್ ನಲ್ಲಿ ಕೆಲಸ ಮಾಡ್ತೇವೆ..ಅಂದಿದ್ದ...ಅಕಸ್ಮಾತ್ ಅವರಿಗೆ ಊರಿಗೆ ಹೋಗಳಾಗದ ಸಂದರ್ಭ ದಲ್ಲಿ ????!!!!!

ನಾನು ಬಾಲ್ಕನಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಗಿಡಗಳೊಂದಿಗೆ ಕೂತು ಓದಿದೆ

ನಿನ್ನೆನೆ ಬರೆದಿದ್ದೆ. ಎರಡು ಫೋಟೋ download ಮಾಡುವಾ ಅಂತ ಪ್ರಯತ್ನ ಮಾಡಿದೆ..ಆಗಲಿಲ್ಲ..ಮರೆತು ಫೋಟೋ ಕೂಡ delete ಮಾಡಿದೆ. 😲🤔🤔
