In God's own country - a place to relax

Last week Niha was called to assist in a photoshoot of a new holidayhome/resort. At the last minute Niha asked if i wanted to accompany her and i accepted.  Armed with a suspense thriller and quickly bundling some clothes and snacks in a bag , we caught the Kerala Transport bus at three from Kengeri Satellite town to Sulthan Battheri, waynad district, Kerala. With just short stop at Mysore and another one at Gundlupet for evening tea we reached Sulthan battheri at 8.30 pm in the night.
The manager of the resort was waiting to pick us up. There was a slight drizzle and it was cool. But the way to the resort was dark.

A quick look around the rooms and hot yummy dinner and we were off to retire for the day.the mattress was comfortable and the quilt warm.   Morning i woke to the twittering of innumerable birds.

After freshening up Niha went to assist her friend in making the arrangements for Photoshoot and i took a quiet walk by myself. The roads were full of ups and downs and surrounded by lush greenery and to my utter delight i found there were many households in the surrounding area. the road to resort was dark because of the powercut and also due to the thick cover of greenery. Not long into my walk and  i realised were situated just few minutes away from the bus stand and further away was the market. On the way met a fish seller and milk man on moped with loud hrns. they stand in a corner and blow on their horn ( both the horns had different sounds for the people to identify between the fish and milk seller) and people in the vicinity run with their vessels for fish or milk. :-)
clean country road with not much traffic is ideal for family outings on bicycles

After a yummy breakfast of puttu and kadala curry and When Niha was busy with her work i spent quiet time with my book and FaceBook 🙂
at night the place is good to have barbecues and campfire, there is ample space for games and parking your vehicles.
If you want a break from Bangalore and wish to visit some place nearby and if you would like to read/ write something this is the place to be.
Morning walks are the pleasantest. You can see deers roaming freely and i spied more than 10 varieties of birds (they were hard to capture on my cell phone) and a strange snake with a head on both the ends 🙂

The people looking after the place, be it Sandhya who mans the front office or tangamma who dishes out tasty kerala delicacies and mujeeb and babu, the Manager Ajeesh are all friendly, smiling  and approachable.
They have different tour packages for the guests and once their website is up and running i will link it up to this note.
In the meantime you can contact  Ajeesh's at:
