Fire ART & BBQ

I always thought fire interested only me, when Niha started taking pictures i found out that she is enamored of the dancing flames as much as me! I can stare at Fire, rain and fishes for hours at an end.
Just observe this dancers pose! I think this post will take up one entire blog page. downloaded the pictures as is......

bhoooooth!!

rise -up and rise -up

beauty of fire with the lights - off (rabbit with one ear saying Hiii there!!)

Dervish

looks like a witch searching for her broom

lady walking out of the fire?

Malavika getting ready her Barbeque paraphernalia

My favorite shape..looks like champaka flowers?

flames die out making way for embers

looks like a fairy on flight naa? Now it is just right for the barbeque

Chilli powder, vinegar, garlic-ginger paste and salt...vegetables used are capscicum, tomato, diced Onion  along with cottage cheese (Paneer) and mushrooms

i never throw away the coconut kernels. did i hear 'ah konkani's?? Yes Konkani's are a resourceful lot. Once in a fortnight we have barbeque sessions c/o malavika on her off day... it is also giving her a new job idea...Keep guessing folks...LOL

Hi Malathakka,
I am a silent admirer of your 'Sanchi'. Now, seeing the fire and BBQ couldn't stop commenting :)
Next time when you BBQ, add pineapple dices as well. We actually marinade all the veggies with yogurt, salt and Tandoori masala powder (we get them here in the Indian grocery stores. They must be available over there as well) and little bit of red chilli powder. Pineapples are great for barbeque! One more awesome veggie is Brinjal (eggplant). Make a mixture of chilli powder, salt, aam choor powder and coriander powder - make slices (not very thin) of brinjals - dip them in the masala mixture - grill them on a grilling plate (do not insert sticks). They are yummmm!!! :)
Will definitely try your method next time :)

Dear Prathima:
thanks for commenting. and gr8 big thanks for the tips. Pineapple is my fav fruit. My younger daughter has a holiday today owing to bus strike so we will try out your ideas today itself..but will have to think what to use for a grilling plate though.
I use the embers to roast whole brinjals to prepare badanekaay bajji..thats also a yumm dish....
Yes tandoori masala is available here...

Hi Malathakka,

This is somewhat similar to the grilling plate I have. It need not have the upper part though.

Thanks for the Habba wishes. It was a great family time too, as my 'always travelling' hubby dear is home :) May Gouri and Ganesha bring lot of happiness to your family..
