Meet my Friends Ranjith and Susy

Susy and Ranjith are my best friends who live in Ujire (kukkavu) amidst  picturesque surroundings.
It was one summer evening i met Susy. There was a clay pot making workshop for the kids during their summer vacations, organised at RUDSET Institute, Siddavana, Ujire. I was there in the evening to pick up my kids and look at exhibited work of art. I saw an angelic looking lady approach me from the opposite side. She came directly to me and asked 'are you a dancer'. I smiled shyly at her and said, 'No but i do make my husband and girls dance to my tunes'. We both had a hearty laugh and stuck an instant friendship.Susy introduced me to Ranjith!
Susy  would visit me or i would visit her, sitting sometimes quietly on the side of the riverbank bordering their farm/house, looking at the  waters rippling at the mild breeze or at the movement of a stray fish or a frog, or sit on the jhoola on the terrace of K T Gatti mama's house where we rented his first floor accommodation, enjoying the lush lovely greenery surrounding the house
Or she would visit me on the weekly market day, that was held on Monday and we both would go to Belthangady and do our weekly shopping of vegetables. While returning we would visit Doctor Rathnakar,  listen to all that he had to say about the miracles of Sri Sathya Sai Baba, have a gudbud ice cream at the shop near the bus stand and catch a tempo back to Ujire. Then would share the meal i prepared and Susy would leave for kukkavu in the evening. Those were 5 years of divine companionship that existed between me and Susy.
Whenever my mother called the conversations from my side would be about susy.....Susy this..susy that.., so much so, that my mother was very curious to meet her. So when my mother came visiting i invited Susy. Funny thing was my mom cannot speak English , but she spoke to Susy in Hindi and smatterings of English and Susy knows only English and Malayalee. So i was in the kitchen smiling and trying to decipher their getting -to- know- each other process..:-)
After Susy left my mom took me to task, how can she be your friend, she is older  to me...I was perplexed 'i said 'oh  i did not know friendship was based on age' So its been more than 20 years me and Susy and Ranjith have known each other. I just enjoy being with them.
Ranjith is a very naughty man.A store house of information and a jolly good fellow, famous as a Reiki master in and around Ujire/Belthangady.

Today they visited us and spent some time with us. Ranjith presented us with a book by Sugata Srinivasa Raju  -Pickles, the awesome cover page was designed by another best friend Apara Raghu, and next moment he gave me a call and i was overly exhuberant about the book and the coverpage..day of coincidences, to top it all this morning i read an article in Prajavani by K.T. Gatti , so it was a good day of sorts...by the way both Ranjith and Susy featured in a movie 'karimaleya kaggattalu'. they dont speak much about that either. it was a good movie with a message. i purchased the CD from Shankara book house, just  because they were in the movie. :-)
here is a small video on Ranjith and their lovely house/hill /surroundings captured a few months ago

He was a bit embarrassed to share this clip for he feels it should have been done differently and i agree. But he is my friend and i would like to share his bio- pic with my other friends..it will just take 10 minutes of your time.
enjoy my ramblings...this post is for my sister in the US..

Once again a nice write up. I watched the video in the early morning. I felt like i am listening to a discourse by a guru. One has to make a transcript of this video. So that it will really help youngsters to discover the life meaning.. Thank you very much for sharing..
