Our new normal involves bi-weekly doctor visits, a testament to the long journey of recovery. he's lost 4 kgs in 2 weeks. the endoscopy shows signs of healing. However, hospital visits can be disheartening, especially when I see many seniors attending appointments alone, with minimal support from younger family members, often relying on video calls with youngsters (son/daughter), mostly abroad.
The hospital waiting room was filled with patients dealing with severe health issues, especially foot wounds in various stages of decay, blood, and pus oozing into plastic wrapped around bandages. I recall seeing a handsome, well turned out senior on a wheelchair with a missing right foot and a heavily bandaged left foot. These experiences serve as a stark reminder to prioritize our health.
I'm grateful for my daughter's support during these visits, even when I insist I can manage on my own.
low BP, high sugar, constipation, are his constant companions– they affect not just his physical well-being but also his energy levels and cognitive function. I am exploring alternative options like homeopathy, and I'm optimistic about it's potential benefits..
The challenges of long-term caregiving can be overwhelming, affecting both the patient and the caregiver. I do lose my patience on occassions..
As we navigate this journey, we're trying to maintain a sense of normalcy and positivity. ( I plate and post my food pictures on you tube. Do subscribe if you would like to see them 🙂)
Health is indeed wealth, and it's essential to take proactive steps to care for ourselves. Let's prioritize our well-being.
