hand crafted

Hand made gifts/cards are unique and sentimental. It makes the person receiving it feel very special. here are some things that Niha made. Most of them are thankyou cards for her mentors, since her course is coming to an end!! Niha usually uses materials that are available readily at home. I have scanned a few which i liked. But really unique one is the foot print she created from coffee and clay and the annatto seedpod creatures(photographs).
Annatto seed pod turn into male and female creatures

we were travelling on my birthday. She used black gel pen, red ball point pen and serrated scissors to make this impromptu greeting card. This is my favorite. i have saved all the greeting cards she made for me over the years

this i thought was a novel idea. This is for her mentor who loves coffee. So this greeting looks as well as smells great. a waft of coffee and clay :-) filter coffee powder from my kitchen and clay is from the compound wall where the ants have burrowed a hole. its a bit smudged in my hurry to scan it. Probabaly i was more excited than her :-). To make the clay+coffee powder stick to paper she used adhesive paste. She repaired it a bit after my scanning funda

with tiny crayons that my sisters' daughter had left behind.on her previous visit. so colourful and vibrant

black ball point ink
She did not like this much. But i thought it was kind of cute

This is HER all time favorite. she had made one beautiful sun god face with Papier-mâché for
the wall of my brothers factory. It looks real grand.will get a snapshot of it next time i go there!!

And malu does great gift wraps. This she made for my friend Divya Mallya, to hold one and half inch crystal Ganapathi idol (photograph)

upclose. using Brown binding paper, black gel pen, dry grass , piece of white paper to craft the flower and embroidery thread for the handle
:-)
